Action Kit

Sex trafficking of women and children is a disturbing reality in the United States. Taking to heart our history of slavery in Egypt and our belief that no one should be exploited, NCJW aims to expose and address this issue with a powerful program of public awareness, education, and advocacy. The EXODUS Action Kit includes advocacy resources, program ideas, and useful information. Use the materials to enhance your current anti-trafficking efforts or to begin raising awareness about sex trafficking in your community.

NCJW State Policy Focus: Implementing National Trafficking Hotline Posting Laws

The National Trafficking Hotline provides a lifeline to survivors of trafficking across the country, operating 24 hours a day in over 170 languages. A total of 28 states, as well as the District of Columbia, have passed laws requiring the hotline to be posted in transportation hubs, sexually oriented businesses, emergency care providers, job recruitment centers, hospitals, and other public places. (To learn more, see NCJW’s fact sheet.) But once these laws are passed they must be implemented! Watch this video call to learn more about effective implementation strategies.

NCJW State Policy Focus: Vacating Trafficking Convictions Laws

Vacating trafficking convictions laws ensure that survivors of sex trafficking are not forced to pay for the crimes of their traffickers. On Tuesday, July 19 NCJW held a call with the experts to learn more about this legislation and how we can get it passed in our communities. Featured speakers include: Lori Cohen, Chair of EXODUS: NCJW’s Anti-Sex Trafficking Initiative; Jessica-Wind Abolafia, Staff Attorney at Sanctuary for Families; and Maya Paley, NCJW Los Angeles Director of Community Outreach and Advocacy.
